Day 1

Yup! It’s the 4th of March, the day we set off to WUHAN! How nice to fall sick just 1 day before our departure huh?! -.- I was already feeling homesick on my way to the airport early in the morning, meeting time was 5.30AM. Just imagine what time I have to wake up! Okay, abide that and keep this post short and sweet with quality not quantity, I shall let the pictures tell our journey to Wuhan!

a picture with my group mates.

FINALLY! after 9hrs of flight + transit, we landed in Wuhan.

while queuing at the customs clearing, this lady in front just pretended to be blur and cut the queue when we were obviously standing in front of her in a straight line. First impression of China = Not-so-good.

a group photo with the clique! :D

Upon arriving, we boarded the bus and headed to the hostel. Just along the way, I realized there were no road dividers in some areas, along small streets. The bus driver kept honking nonstop, prolly trying to warn others and they don’t really follow the traffic rules. Oh, and the bus driver swerved left and right just to avoid some uneven roads as there were no road divider though it was wide enough for 3 vehicles. It was quite funny I think? Haha!

The bus took about 20mins to reach the hostel, but no pictures were taken ‘cause it was FREAKING COLDDDDD!!! We were greeted by a big group of local students and they were all helping us to carry our luggage, was rather heartwarming to see them waiting for us and helping in such a COLDDDD weather. After which, we were brought to our dorms and started to unpack and settle down. Then the a group of local students brought us out for dinner along the food street, just behind the hostel.

Reflection:

My impression on China and its people had definitely changed, in a good way of course. The people wasn’t as bad as what I heard and thought of, they are just as friendly and helpful as us. I personally feel that the environment was quite acceptable if we are willing to. But it was definitely an eye opener to experience the bus ride and see their traffic situation, TOTALLY DIFFERENT from Singapore’s. Oh and apart from that, I felt that the students here are much more welcoming and helpful that us when the Wuhan students came to Ngee Ann. We didn’t personally bring them around nor treat them to our local delicacies. Heh!

Day 2 will be up real soon!
