Day 26
We all had a tough weekend and I reckon all of our legs are aching ‘cause mine does HURT! Once again with Ms Neo being so kind, we had the day off. NO LESSON! :D We all slept like nobody’s business, but I was already wide awake at 9am so watched movies while trying to upload the photos. HEH! Our plan for today was to watch Alice In Wonderland (which I was waiting for so long)! So, I got Wu Di to help us to borrow student cards as the ticket would be at half price for students. They came all the way to our room while Mei Xiu was bathing, and while I looked like an old hag with messy hair. Anyway, Mei Xiu and I went to the bank to withdraw money ‘cause we spent A LOT! Then we headed to Jiang Han Lu’s Wanda Guang Chang. The first thing we did when we arrived at Jiang Han Lu was to buy the movie tickets! these are the student passes, and i was surprised we were still able to buy the tickets as we were all FEAMALES using MALE student cards! HAHA!
We had Korean BBQ for lunch and caught the 2.30pm movie in English, too bad they only have English in 2D not 3D. Movie twist and effects were quite awesome I suppose?
a sign reminding us to enter 5 minutes earlier before our movie starts, but i don't see that in Singapore's cinemas.
something different in the cinemas here is that you get to choose which hall you want to watch the movie. There're quite a few selections and some halls air the movie in chinese, but we chose the one in english of course. :)
@ Wanda Cinemas!
After which, it was shopping again as we ALL know. HAHAHA! Mei Xiu ALMOST got pick pocket by some guy who acted as if nothing happened when I shouted and stared at him. Luckily Mei Xiu had her wallet in her hands and I was alert enough to spot an unwanted hand on Mei Xiu bag. The whole drama was so sudden and swift, I couldn’t remember how I reacted to it! Mei Xiu freaked and hugged her bag tightly after that. Then, we headed back to our hostel after all the shopping.
Reflection:
I realised there isn’t any money changer here in Wuhan at all, and was always told to change at the bank whenever we asked the locals where can we change currency. This is because China has TOO MANY fakes, even money and even the locals are afraid of exchanging currency anywhere else. Unlike in Singapore, we see money changer almost anywhere. Afraid of changing “fake notes” never came across my mind when exchanging currency at the money changer in Singapore, I don’t know why. Maybe it’s the trust I have for Singapore and its government that corruptions and what not would not happen. I’m happy and proud to be a Singaporean. :)
